GRAPEVINE – 7th to 21st July 2019.

Church Family News

Please remember in your prayers:- We think of all members of our church family who are maybe struggling with health problems, and we think of those who are due to undergo hospital tests, operations, treatments etc for various conditions or perhaps waiting for results and trust all will go well for them.

We also remember all Church family and friends who can no longer share in fellowship with us because of being housebound or who are now in the loving care of Care Homes in the area, and feel sure that knowing they are in our thoughts and prayers is a comfort to them.

Happy Birthday, Congratulations and Best Wishes to all who have Birthdays and/or Anniversaries over the next two weeks. Before we mention a special birthday coming up for someone, we send belated greetings to the following church family members. Firstly belated Happy Birthday to John Chisholm (Millie’s Dad) who celebrated his 99th birthday a few days ago, we are pleased to hear you had a good day with family around you John. Secondly belated Congratulations and Best Wishes to Dawn and Andrew Stoves as they celebrated their Silver Wedding on 2nd July, and lastly belated Best Wishes and Birthday Greetings go to Jean Burdon, following her celebrating her milestone 80th birthday on 4th July. A special milestone birthday that we are ahead of is that of Joyce Millions who will be celebrating her 90th birthday on 14th July, and we wish you a very happy day Joyce.

We send Love, Best Wishes and God’s Blessings to you all XX

Church Gardening – also from Caroline,

This is certainly the season of rampant growth everywhere and our church garden flower beds and shrubs are no exception. The grass cutting rota is working well and the “mowers” are very much appreciated. However, if anyone has a spare hour or so, please feel free to work on any area at the front, side or back of church or even attack the weeds which seem to grow so strongly between the paving slabs at the back. Any help is very welcome and volunteers will receive a new pair of gardening gloves!!!!! – please see me.

A Charity Film Night will be held at Greens Lane on Tuesday 30th July at 7.00pm when the showing of the film ‘Tortured for Christ’ will be shown. This is the story of Pastor Richard Wumbrand who inspired the founding of Release in 1968, and who experienced first-hand the horrors of imprisonment and torture in communist Romania because of his uncompromising faith in Jesus Christ (he was imprisoned for 14 years).
