GRAPEVINE – 23rd February to 8th March 2020

Church Family News

Please remember in your prayers:- Pleased to report that Andrew Stoves is now home into the care of Dawn., and so much easier for the family to be in contact with him. He is progressing well – one day at a time, and we must continue to pray for his ongoing daily recovery. We think of all members of our church family who are maybe struggling with health problems, and we think of those who are due to undergo hospital tests, operations, treatments etc for various conditions or perhaps waiting for results and trust all will go well for them. We also remember all Church family and friends who can no longer share in fellowship with us because of being housebound or who are now in the loving care of Care Homes in the area, and feel sure that knowing they are in our thoughts and prayers is a comfort to them.

Happy Birthday, Congratulations and Best Wishes to all who have Birthdays or Wedding Anniversaries during the next two weeks. We give a special mention for Margaret and Albert Jefferies who celebrate their 63rd Wedding Anniversary on Monday 2nd March. The Church family at Greens Lane offer Congratulations, Best Wishes and Love to you both on your ‘Special Day’. May God’s love surround you both always. XXXXXXX

Methodist Women in Britain – Circuit Lunch at Greens Lane

The lunch will be held on Wednesday 11th March and will consist of meat pie, peas (or beans) and mash followed by dessert and a cup of tea or coffee. The cost will be £7.00p. All monies raised from the lunch will be for the COCO project that all MWiB Groups within Circuits, within the Darlington District MWiB will be contributing to from various fund raising events. COCO stands for Comrades Of Children Overseas and their mission statement indicates that all children are entitled to an education and that by ensuring as many children as possible benefit from the charity, and gain an education, there will, in time, be a better life for all by strengthening families and communities to become self sufficient in varying ways. Tickets are available from Judy Morrison, and we do hope that all who came along and enjoyed friendship and fellowship at our meal held last year, will join us again this year. We will have a short service (in the hall) at 11.30 am to be followed by lunch. Please remember that we are ALL Methodist Women in Britain and you/we don’t have to ‘join anything’.
